Choir and Consort
Richard has sung as part of the choirs of King's College, Cambridge, The Temple Church, Westminster Cathedral, St. Margaret’s Westminster, St. Bride’s Fleet Street, Grosvenor Chapel, The Chapels Royal of HM Tower of London, St. Bartholomew’s Smithfield, Southwark Cathedral, St. George’s Chapel Windsor, Hampstead Parish Church, St. Luke's Chelsea, and with Consort/Vocal Groups such as The Gabrieli Consort, Tenebrae, Polyphony, The Cambridge Scholars, Magnificat, Tonus Peregrinus, The Brabant Ensemble, Opus Anglicanum, The Eric Whitacre Singers, Heritage Voices, The Philharmonia Voices and London Voices.
Tenor Soloist
As a tenor oratorio soloist in the UK Richard has delivered performances of Haydn’s Creation, Bach’s B Minor Mass, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Britten’s St. Nicholas, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Stainer’s Crucifiction and performed the Evangelist part in Bach’s St. John Passion and St. Matthew Passion amongst other works.
In the world of contemporary music Richard is one of the few singers in the world to have given over 50 performances of Berio’s Sinfonia. He has also performed Berio’s a cappella work a ronne & 3 operas by Azio Corghi, and chorus and solo tenor parts in the world premiere of Stockhausen’s opera Mittwoch aus Licht with London Voices/Birmingham Opera Company under Graham Vick as part of the London 2012 festival. In 2019 he gave a critically acclaimed performance of Stockhausen’s Stimmung at The Southbank Centre, London with London Voices.
A Cappella
Since school days Richard has loved the genre of a cappella. He sang for over 10 years with The Swingles (2000-2010), and co-founded the London A Cappella Festival in 2010. In 2006 having seen beatboxer SK Shlomo in concert, he devised the original concept for what would become "Shlomo and The Vocal Orchestra", a collaboration between 5 beatboxers and The Swingles at the Southbank Centre, London in 2007.

Tenor Vocalist
With London Voices and The Heritage Orchestra he has sung as a backing singer for Pulp, Aphex Twin, Sting, Florence and the Machine, Anna Calvi, Coldplay and Goldie. He sang in the UK premiere of Frank Zappa's 200 Motels at The Southbank Centre, London in October 2013. His voice has appeared on numerous film soundtracks, TV programmes and even once as an animated Zebra.
Workshops / Educational
Richard Eteson is frequently called upon as a judge of singing competitions and has appeared as a tutor / workshop leader for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and the UK Choir Festival.
